LDS Sister Auxiliary Leaders and Missionary Service

Did you know that most of our women auxiliary leaders have spent time in the mission field? Some have served as single sisters, while others served along side their husbands, but they all definitely have the missionary spirit. Listed below are the missions they served in.

General Relief Society Presidency- Linda K. Burton was a teen while her father was the mission president of the New Zealand South Mission for 3 years, and she later served in mission field with her husband while he was president of the Korea Seoul West Mission. Carole M. Stephens served as a Church-service missionary in the Family History Library. Linda S. Reeves served with her husband as he presided over the California Riverside Mission.

 Young Women General Presidency: Carol F. McConkie (first counselor), Bonnie L. Oscarson (president), and Neill F. Marriott (second counselor)

General Young Women Presidency- Bonnie L. Oscarson served with her husband in the Sweden Göteborg Mission (they later returned, and she spent 3 years as matron of the Stockholm Sweden Temple). Carol F. McConkie served with her husband in the California San Jose Mission. Neill F. Marriott served with her husband in the Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos Mission.

Since this originally posted in 2014, Sister Dorah Mkhabela, a General Young Women Board member from South Africa, has been called to serve with her husband as he presides over the Zimbabwe Harare Mission.

Primary

Primary General Presidency- Rosemary M. Wixom served with her husband while he was president of the Washington D.C. South Mission. Sister Cheryl A. Esplin served with her husband in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission.

**UPDATE**

Since this original posting, Sister Jean A. Stevens has been called to the England London Mission with her husband, who is presiding as mission president there. Sister Mary R. Durham was called to Primary presidency when Sister Stevens left. Sister Durham served in the mission field with her husband when he presided over the Tokyo Japan Mission.
